Exposures - Student Art Show 4:00 PM to 6:00 PMExposures - Student Art ShowDate: Apr 25Time: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PMLocation: Northport Arts Association, 301 Mill St, Northport, MI 49670, USACalendar: Website
Exposures is a collaborative project designed in 1988 to challenge Leelanau County students in grades 7-12 to express themselves through art and writing and provide a showcase for their work. Each year about 1,000 poems, stories, photographs, paintings, drawings, and sketches are submitted for review. Published students receive a free copy of the magazine and extra copies are available for $5 in school offices and at Case Daniels Jewelry in Suttons Bay.
It is a testament to the commitment of our schools and fine arts devotees that we have been able to produce this publication every year, during good economic times and bad – and 2025 will be the 37th annual issue! This year the show will be at the Northport Arts Association on Friday, April 25 (reception 4:00-6:30 PM) and Saturday, April 26, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
We are grateful for the continuing support of the administrators and boards of education from Glen Lake Community Schools, the Leelanau School, Leland Public School, Northport Public School, Pathfinder School, St. Mary’s School, and Suttons Bay Public Schools. Ongoing contributions from many generous individuals, Genuine Leelanau, Suttons Bay Art Festival, Glen Arbor Arts Center, Leland Educational Foundation, Suttons Bay-Bingham Fund, and the Youth Advisory Council of the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation are also gratefully acknowledged.
